Older residents, as well as those with limited incomes face more and more home repairs that will wipe out their budget. Seniors are left to try and decide between fixing the roof or purchasing needed medicine, food, or utilities.
The Rowlett HFC Foundation was created as a 501(c)(3) corporation for the express purpose of ensuring that all people who call Rowlett home can have a safe and secure house in which people can create a foundation for a meaningful life. The 501(c)(3) foundation partners with the city of Rowlett to identify homeowners that are in distress and work to get needed repairs completed.
...but we need your help!
This program provides great a benefit to our community. We want to be involved by partnering with us to help support our neighbors. Do you know someone in Rowlett that needs repairs to their home and cannot afford to complete them? Here is your chance to help ensure that they, as well as everyone else in Rowlett, has a safe and secure place to lay their head down at night.
The graphic to the left depicts typical resident income vs. the cost of home repairs. The cost can be devastating to a senior citizen on a fixed income (shown at $1,500/ mo.), or someone with a disability that prohibits them from performing repairs. We can do better, Rowlett!
Over the past couple of years, material costs have skyrocketed and labor costs have more than doubled. Over the past five years, the City of Rowlett has expended on average $100,000 per year to assist in these critical repairs. However, in 2022, only $40,000 was made available and those funds have been exhausted!
The Rowlett HFC Foundation recently donated $50,000 to the City of Rowlett to keep the program running, but those funds are already spoken for with the backlog of work that has already been identified. We need help! Your assistance can keep this program functioning! Even the smallest donation adds to the total available for us to ensure that all Rowlett citizens have a safe, secure home in which to live. Won't you help?
